The Fire Knowledge Network will create value for the fire industry through:

  • Ability to identify opportunities to leverage business value from learnings
  • Reduced risk, better bushfire management
  • Increased levels of innovation
  • Improved collaboration between fire and land management agencies, and researchers
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to a changing business environment
  • Promotion and communication of the outcomes and application of fire research to the wider community
  • Avoid repeating work already done and repeating mistakes already made
  • Learning from the past and applying those learnings
  • Improved decision making due to access to timely, reliable, accurate, information
  • Fast, simple and easy access to information to support core business processes
  • Reduce costs because of lower levels of redundant, duplicated or erroneous information
  • Improve data integrity through better information control
  • Supports knowledge retention within the fire industry

The Fire Knowledge Network is a way for fire agencies to build their people, increase their core competencies and improve business performance.
