Department of Fire and Emergency Services

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) coordinates the response to a wide range of emergencies including fire, cyclones, storms, floods, road crash, hazardous material spills, earthquakes and tsunami as well as undertaking search and rescue operations on land and water. It also aims to reduce injury, loss of life and destruction of property in our community through proactive measures. DFES helps the West Australian community prepare for, prevent and respond to and recover from an emergency.
