There is currently no validated physicalselection test (PST) for tanker-based rural bushfire fighters. This project will develop a PST prototype based on the duties of rural bushfire suppression. The PST will be validated against critical tasks of the occupation. The project will also assess the physical selection tests ability to measure physical performance during typical work conditions (e.g. heat, smoke and sleep loss).
