Overview of Research
The themes for research and
collaboration were identified through broad industry consultation
answering the following key
questions:
- Where are we now?
- Where do we want to be in 10-15 years?
- How do we get there?
Key issues to emerge from
this process for the fire industry and the broader community
are:
- climate change and drought;
- demographic changes and community education;
- informed public planning policy and critical infrastructure
protection;
- Changing technologies and
- Safe firefighting.
Research themes were then categorised under broad research
headings. Individual research projects will be developed from
the proposed themes and will be closely linked to industry and
end-user needs.
