Research Events

A program of interactive and engaging events for the fire and research community as well as the general public is a key part of promoting the research outputs of the Bushfire CRC.

This page promotes upcoming events - both Bushfire CRC owned and external related events - and also contains outputs from past research events. Much of the Bushfire CRC annual events program has been integrated with AFAC’s Knowledge Events through a joint initiative - Professional Development Events.

Bushfire CRC events

The Bushfire CRC sent a delegation of researchers and end-user partners to present at the 3rd Human Dimensions of Wildland Fire conference in Seattle, Washington in April 2012.
Important research has been conducted over the past few years in respect to firefighter cooling and hydration, designed to ensure the firefighters' core temperatures are maintained at a safe level.
This field trip was an opportunity for Bushfire CRC end-users and researchers to interact and discuss how current field-based research activities at University of Melbourne and University of Sydney deliver useful information on fire impacts on forest hydrology and erosion.
Professional development events
Understanding the human factors that influence decision making and performance in emergency services contexts - joint Bushfire CRC and AFAC workshops.
Research Advisory Forum Canberra 5
Research Advisory Forum (5) was at the Australian National University in Canberra, 25-26 October 2011.
