Prof Mark Adams is Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Food
and Natural Resources at the University of Sydney. In addition
to leading Program B he is leader of the Bushfire CRC HighFire
Project.
He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the World
Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi , Kenya (also known as ICRAF) and
serves in an honorary capacity within several other international
research organizations (CIFOR, IAEA). Mark has research interests
that span soil science, tree physiology, ecophysiology and ecology.
The author of more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals,
books and book chapters as well as many conference contributions,
Mark holds editorial responsibilities for leading international
journals in the fields of ecology and tree physiology. Past
distinctions include: Queen Elizabeth II Fellowship; Alexander von
Humboldt Fellowship; Bede Morris Fellowship (from the Australian
Academy of Science and Embassy of France); and currently a
'Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award' from the Alexander von
Humboldt Foundation. Mark maintains research collaborations in a
number of countries ( USA , Germany , France ) and has been awarded
more than $4M from the Australian Research Council to conduct
research over the past 10 years.
