Postgraduate students are invited to apply for Natural Hazards Research Australia’s (the Centre) Postgraduate Research Scholarship program.
This round of scholarships opens 1 May 2026 and closes 5:00pm AEST, 31 May 2026.
The Centre’s Postgraduate Research Scholarships support eligible students undertaking full-time study in a research area that aligns with the Centre’s research themes.
The following scholarships are available:

Full scholarships: up to $34,000 per year for up to three and a half years for PhD students and up to two years for Masters students (excluding periods of approved leave) for full-time candidates.

Top-up PhD scholarships: up to $17,000 per year for full-time candidates for three and a half years to either:

holders of Research Training Program (RTP) or similar university research scholarships

holders of partial scholarships funded by an industry organisation.
Scholars will benefit from networking opportunities, mentoring, research promotion, and additional funding to attend relevant conferences and participate in Centre‑led events and activities.
