Fire and land management agencies in south eastern Australia will be able to better plan for changes in the severity and timing of bushfire seasons following the release of new research on possible climate change impacts.
Managing fuel in eucalypt plantations is critical to the success of the plantation. The Bushfire CRC has held a seminar and field trip at Casino in northern New South Wales to show the latest research in this field.

With 1325 delegates from 26 countries, and a trade exhibition of 110 stands, the joint Bushfire CRC and AFAC/International Fire Chiefs’ Association of Asia (IFCAA) Conference 2006 in Melbourne in August has been hailed as an event which exceeded all expectations.
Bushfire fatalities have long been a major concern for fire agencies and it has been the death of people in vehicles that has come under particular attention in recent years.
