Marco investigated the complex interactions present within bushfire risk management.  He aimed to identify the nature of existing barriers between agencies through a mixed and multi-faceted method approach.

The significance of this research is to analyse the barriers to the sharing of knowledge between fire and land management agencies locally and internationally; to grasp their internal limitations in undertaking bushfire investigation; and endeavour to use all the information identified with the aim of creating a starting point to offer agencies a better understanding and facilitate them in the process of sharing their knowledge.
