Associate Student - PhD

Stephanie is a Bushfire CRC Associate Student, completing a PhD at the Centre for Sleep Research at the University of South Australia. She was working on the Firefighter health and safety (beyond endurance sustaining operations) Bushfire CRC project.

Stephanie's PhD title is 'Recovery of physiological and psychological function in shiftwork'. Her PhD investigated how physiological and psychological parameters of recovery such as cortisol secretion (a stress hormone which is intrinsically linked to sleep and is vital for normal body functioning), mood and cognition are affected during and after sustained firefighting operations.
