Jamie Duncan is a Communications Officer based in our Melbourne node.
Jamie is a communications professional former journalist who loves to tell great yarns in digital and print forms.
He has worked in Melbourne and across regional Victoria, sometimes from the scene of a natural disaster.
Jamie worked on country and suburban newspapers before joining Australian Associated Press and, later, the Herald Sun.
At AAP, he covered major floods, bushfires, cyclones and a major tornado in northern Victoria, and served for a year as AAP’s national weather writer.
In a later position at the former Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, he worked as a media officer in Victoria’s State Control Centre during the Black Summer bushfires.
Jamie has a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) Degree from RMIT University. He has strong interview, writing and editing skills and a passion to put people at the heart of his stories.
